Sarah S.
Hi my name is Sarah Sullivan,
I grew up in a Christian family and was taught about God's love and the gospel. I accepted Christ into my life when I was 4. The basis for my decision was that I realized that I was a sinner and needed a savior. Even though I accepted Him as savior, I hadn't quite accepted Him as LORD of my life. As I read God's word, I learned more about what it means to submit to God as my Lord. When I was 13, I decided to make a decision to follow Christ publicly by being baptized. After that I began to realize that I needed to share the gift of salvation with others who do not know about God. Later when I was 17, my brother died in a plane crash while serving on the mission field for Guatemala. It was the hardest experience I had ever gone through, but I grew so much closer to Christ during that time. The death of my brother has brought the reality of the hope of heaven so much closer to me. I feel the urgency for the gospel to be known to all people. My journey is far from over, and I continue to learn new things and grow closer to my wonderful Savior. My favorite verse is Hebrews 12:1-2 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
I love this verse because it reminds me to keep my eyes fixed on Christ even when life is difficult, because in the end it will all be worth it. And it also reminds that, whatever I have been through, Jesus has already been through it, and is always there for me. I hope this verse brings you encouragement! I hope you enjoyed reading a little bit about me!
